Wellness Visit

For years, women have referred to their yearly gynecologic visit as, “my pap smear”.  Now pap guidelines have changed, so while a pap smear usually is not performed annually, a wellness visit is still recommended.

What is a Wellness visit?

This visit includes an overall assessment of numerous health issues, including:

• Health status (what kind of shape are you in?)
• Menstrual issues
• Family Planning
• Diet and Exercise
• Sexual Practices
• Tobacco, Alcohol, and Drug use
• Domestic Violence Screening
• Periodic Health Screens (Pap, Mammogram, Cholesterol, Diabetes, Colonoscopy, etc)
• Immunization Update
• Medication Renewal
